Dundee has come a long way from its industrial and maritime past. As the three J’s (Jute, Jam and Journalism) are replaced with innovative technology companies, games developers are doing their part in getting Dundee recognised. To be fair, Journalism has not vanished, and the famous DC Thomson keeps on thriving!
In recent years, the City has received a lot of attention to reflect its true nature, a jewel on the North Sea coast! The world famous Waterfront of Dundee has been undergoing an extensive revamp the pinnacle of which being the V&A Museum Of Design.

Sunny Dundee sits in the North-East of Scotland, perched on the bank of the Firth of Tay. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, it provides the convenience of City living combined with the great outdoors just a stone’s throw away. No matter if it’s fishing, golfing, hiking or rowing you enjoy, it is all right at your fingertips.
Dundee and its surroundings is also home to a number of delightful Restaurants and bars such as Sol y Sombra. And if it is Fine Dining you fancy, you will not be let down. Whether it be the Castlehill in Dundee itself or the Newport a short trip across the Tay Bridge Collinsons in Broughty Ferry, all of which are recognised in the MICHELIN Guide 2018.
On top of all of this, Dundee is also at the forefront of biomedical and life sciences. Currently the sector contributes about 16% to the local economy. The University of Dundee’s School of Life Sciences is home of Professor Sir Philip Cohen, whose research into protein phosphorylation has been accredited in bringing biotech companies as well as innovative researchers to Dundee. Among these have been Professor Sir David Lane here who of course discovered p53.
So instead of asking “Why Dundee?”, ask yourself “Why not Dundee!”
